About me - Mario
It’s very difficult to describe oneself without falling into excessive humility that sells oneself cheap, or into a spiral of self-congratulating fantasy, bragging about skills and achievements that are probably quite common. But for anyone who ends up here with some curiosity about getting to know me (if you haven’t already crossed paths with me), let me introduce myself: I’m a software developer.
I’ve been at this for quite a while, surviving and adapting. Currently, I hold the position of Senior Software Engineer at an important fintech. And I say "important" not just because it sounds good or because it’s objectively true (which it is), but because it’s important to me. I take my work seriously and try to be the best professional I can. At the same time, I try not to take myself too seriously: I strive to stay grounded, keep learning something new every day, and when I share lessons on the little I know, I do so because teaching is, without a doubt, the best way to learn.
In this space, you’ll find little pieces of my mind in the form of reflections, mostly on programming and software development. I’m passionate about solving problems and finding the best way to do things—or at least the least bad option among all the possibilities. That’s why I often dive into areas where I’m far from being an expert, with more courage than accuracy. I hope you’ll forgive me for that.
And now that we know each other a bit, I invite you to take a look at the rest of the content and, if you feel like it, come back here every once in a while. Welcome!
