No Easy Wins
Some people give up at the first setback, while others grow stronger through adversity. I want to believe I belong to the second group. After all, what meaning do achievements hold if they come too easily? The satisfaction of reaching a goal—no matter how small—through perseverance is far deeper than a win handed over by default.
No one awards medals for a stroll in the park. In the same way, completing a project when everything aligns feels like running a race that's been rigged. Without those small—and sometimes large—struggles, without the frustration of stalled progress, without the moments of doubt, victories wouldn’t taste the same.
Throughout my life, I’ve found myself surrounded by people I could help—and did. I’ve always ended up in complex roles, the kind that require both head and heart. I’m not sure if I found those challenges or they found me—but life works that way. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and meaningful work is never simple.
Still, I have no regrets. Not giving up is what lets me enjoy these small, well-earned victories.
